Dr. Campbell received an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of New Hampshire where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society and captain of the Track and Field team in 1984. At the New England College of Optometry in Boston Massachusetts he was president of his class as well as president of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society, earning his doctorate in 1988. He completed a hospital-based residency with emphasis in ocular disease in Baltimore in 1989 prior to entering practice at the Eye Institute of San Antonio. Dr. Campbell then served as president of the Bexar County Optometric Society. In 1999 Drs. Campbell and Sharp formed Sharp Eye Consultants, P.A. where Dr. Campbell continues to enjoy serving San Antonio’s Seniors. He also serves as adjunct clinical faculty for the University of Houston College of Optometry, and the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry where he shares his more than 30 years of experience with future optometric glaucoma specialists.
Dr. Campbell enjoys traveling the world with his wife and daughters and he delights in keeping up with all of their activities. He also has a passion for athletics, winning the 2016 world championship in the pole vault in the 55-59 age group.
