Dr. Kirsti Ramirez is a Doctor of Optometry and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Development from The University of Texas at Austin. She graduated Valedictorian and Summa Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry. While in optometry school, Dr. Ramirez received the Sr. Dorothy Ettling Future Female Leader award, as well as the VSP Private Practice Excellence award. She is a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society and was chapter Vice-President of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. Dr.
Ramirez completed a primary care residency at the Rosenberg School of Optometry concentrated in ocular disease management. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Ramirez joined Sharp Eye Consultants and became an adjunct faculty member at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry and University of Houston School of Optometry. She is involved in clinical instruction of 4 th year students at those institutions. At the 2018 national meeting, Dr. Ramirez was awarded Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. Professionals who become Fellows of the Academy must complete a rigorous candidacy process including submitting extensive written work and passing an oral examination. In her spare time, Dr. Ramirez enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs, reading, and lounging in the river.
